The Aleataur
An aleatoric music generator, you may influence it but you can’t control it. Just touch the body contacts and The Aleataur will generate a completely new piece of music instantly; leave it to play, and the piece will develop the longer it plays, often evolving into several new pieces over an hour or two. I have played this with live percussionists and a brass section, free-improvising around the themes The Aleataur establishes. The feedback depth control is a multi-turn pot allowing for micro-tuning of the feedback amount, often filling the room with sheets of inter-modulating harmonics. Based on a minor Casio keyboard which, once bent, becomes the very essence of the celestial choir. Deeply satisfying instrument. Currently owned by Dave Ball (Soft Cell)
